摘要: We consider the motion of viscous and nonhomogeneous incompressible fluid under the action of gravity in a stripe domain, which is modelled by the inhomogeneous incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Under a general Reyleigh-Taylor's stability condition (heavier fluid under lighter one) on the density distribution, we show the equilibrium state is asymptotically stable, together with explicit decay rates of the solution evolved from the initial data closed to it. These are joint work with my former student Lihua Dong and Jianguo Li.
